PRIUS
I am on my second Prius, and I couldn’t love it more. I drive all around LA and fill up my gas tank once a week at the most. I have fit an entire spin bike AND Christmas tree easily into the back of it, and sometimes I feel like I literally live out of my car. My car payments are low, my car insurance is reasonable, and I feel confident pulling into any valet.
DAY PLANNER
Go ahead, make fun of me…BUT I am totally obsessed with day planners. Every year I get so excited to pick out the perfect new one that will stay with me for the next 12 months. I love to see my week’s schedule laid out, I love to look back and see how much I’ve done, and I just love pencil and paper. HERE is the one I am currently using.
COFFEE
I sometimes find myself getting excited to go to bed at night so that I can get up and have coffee the next morning. I know, I know, but my personal rule is no more than two cups and 12pm is my cut-off time. I started off drinking vanilla lattes, then switched to a regular latte with 2 packets of raw sugar, then a latte with no sugar and nooowww I am happy to share I have switched to black coffee. I’ve kept my 1-2 cups a day rule and like to take a break/detox once a month every year.
AIRPODS
These are as good as Apple’s vast marketing campaigns would lead you to believe. They are sleek, light, and stay put. I wear them all the time, everywhere. Even while working out. I recommend getting a case that you can click on to something. Like THIS ONE for example.
Running Shoes
I have a lot of shoes. Especially workout shoes. But the ones I continuously use for my runs are Adidas Ultra Boost. I run anywhere from 2-10 miles at a time. But typically, I run 3-6 miles 3 times a week. And these feel the best time and time again.
FITBIT
I just recently started using a FitBit and I’ve been loving it. It’s so fun to see how many calories I burn and to track my sleep. It’s a good way to help keep yourself on track, but I also don’t obsess over it. There are lots of accompanying apps too and the battery lasts for days. HERE is the one I have.
Food
I try to cook at home as much as possible, but sometimes my busy life forces me to grab food on the go. So, these are some of my go-to options for healthy, easy and fast.
JEWELRY
As I started to get older I realized that it was time to start buying “big girl jewelry”. My upbringing didn’t gift me any, so I was on my own. So, thank goodness I stumbled upon the magical Siena Jewelry line designed by Siena herself. To me, I think every piece of jewelry should mean something special to the wearer. Siena’s line allows for that. It’s stylish, unique, high-quality and she can custom make any vision you may have.
RESCUE REMEDY
This is something my mom introduced me to years ago and I still keep a bottle with me to this day. It is a homeopathic formula that helps you to stress less, stay calm and also in control. When I start to feel a little anxious or stressed I put a couple drops under my tongue and it takes the edge off lol. But really, it helps to clear my mind and calm me physically as well.
NORDSTROM RACK
Let’s just start by calling Nordstrom Rack “my happy place.” I am THAT girl…I love to treasure hunt and bargain shop – always have and always will. There’s something that excites and calms me all at the same time about perusing down each aisle one by one. My trick is to buy what I think I’ll want, try it all on in the comfort of my own home and then return what doesn’t work. Shoes, workout gear and fancy dresses are what I regularly “score” the best deals on.
TRAINING SHOES
It’s important to have the right equipment for whatever sport you’re participating in. Running, weight training and HIIT are very different activities. I have found that the Nike Free TR 8 women’s training shoe is perfect for whatever my daily workout in the gym consists of. My color of choice is a black body with white soles because they go with everything and don’t get dirty as quickly as the lighter colors.
MAKE UP
Don’t even get girls started talking about their make-up lol…I’m going to try to keep this brief. I keep it pretty minimal but on the daily I use: Make-Up Forever foundation, Boy Brow by Glossier, Hour Glass bronzer on my cheeks and eyelids, Lancome Mascara and Chanel liquid highlighter. I mostly like to shop at Sephora so I can see and feel the products. But a good recommendation goes a long way in my book. For professional make-up in LA, I use the amazing Chloe Majdipour. If I’m out of town I use an app like The Glam App for hair and make-up and have had great experiences.
HYPERICE
If you haven’t heard of a Hypervolt by the company Hyperice then I am about to rock your world. Think of it as foam rolling but better, easier and faster. I live a busy life and it feels like I am always sore. This “gun” is something I swear by as a recovery method for myself and my clients. Take a look at the rest of the Hyperice products HERE.
NIGHTCLUB
I do not get out much. (Early mornings and all…) But when I DO get a night out, my venues of choice are as follows:
I like spots that are swanky with high energy and that have great menus of course.
T-SHIRTS
Two words: Cotton Citizen. If you haven’t tried any products from this new-ish clothing company from Los Angles you must go online and order a black AND white Tokyo Crop Tee for women and the Classic Crew for men. The quality and feel are unmatched, and they seem to get better and better with every wash.
SPRAY TAN
You know what they say…”If you can’t tone it, tan it!” I know coming from a personal trainer that sounds bad. But you know what, the whole point of sharing my favorite things is to be totally transparent, and I LOVE a good spray tan. It can make you feel like a million bucks with the confidence of a 90’s supermodel. I try to save them for special occasions, big modeling shoots, and when I’m really needing a pick-me-up.
This is who I swear by in LA: Be Bronze Studio
IPAD
I highly recommend adding an iPad to your tech family. It’s small, yet powerful. I use it for so much. I can access my google drive for important documents, I download shows on Netflix for when I have down-time or am traveling, I use Instagram and other social media apps, have games on there for little ones at restaurants, and so much more. I also use my iPad as a modeling portfolio. I used to have to get my pictures printed out and then re-arrange them all physically for each audition. But now, with my iPad, it’s so efficient and easy. One trick I also want to share is to get a Bluetooth keyboard to be able to use with it so you can type quickly when needed.
ACCUPUNCTURE
I’ve recently just started seeing an acupuncturist. I was feeling burnt out and not as in control of my emotions as I wants to be. I reached out to some of my closest friends for names of practitioners that they knew and trusted. My first session was an hour and a half. We talked about all of my symptoms, concerns, fears and then we planned a course of action. Afterwards, I got my first treatment that lasted about 30 mins. And no, you can’t feel the needles, and no, it doesn’t hurt. It’s relaxing and calming. Now, I go once a week and will end up tapering off to once or twice a month eventually. Here are the acupuncturists that I recommend in Los Angeles-
Meghan Miller, Meta Health
Dr. Dao, Tao of Wellness
